Description:
Abstract:
This data set contains point and line features of topographic information for 18 sections in the Oconomowoc River sub-watershed. The topographic features consist of geodetic and geographic reference elements, hydrographic elements, planimetric elements, and hypsometric elements. An additional set of features called map sheet elements are included to allow preparation of hard-copy cartographic products. The data set covers sections 29-33 in T10N R19E and sections 3-10, 17-20, and 30 in T9N R19E. The digital map files were prepared at one-inch-equals-200-feet scale. The digital map files are in MicroStation DGN format and ArcInfo Coverage format.
Purpose:
This data set was collected to provide topographic information for use in planning and other programs in Washington County and for regional planning activities in Southeastern Wisconsin. This project was specifically undertaken to provide the topographic information required to complete a detailed floodplain study of the Oconomowoc River sub-watershed within Washington County.

Logical_Consistency_Report:
The features in this data set were collected from aerial photography utilizing stereo-photogrammetric methods. The digital map files in the data set were reviewed to ensure all features are correctly represented and properly symbolized. The files were also inspected to ensure all features are complete and correctly organized in the files.
Completeness_Report:
This data set was compiled by a photogrammetric engineering firm under subcontract to the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. To the best knowledge of Washington County and the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, this data set includes all of the intended features acquired from the aerial photography.
Positional_Accuracy:
Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy:
Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report:
Digital topographic mapping was prepared to meet National Map Accuracy Standards for one-inch-equals-200-feet scale mapping. Therefore, ninety percent or more of all well-defined planimetric features in the mapping for these areas are within 6.6 feet of their true position.
Vertical_Positional_Accuracy:
Vertical_Positional_Accuracy_Report:
The digital topographic mapping in this data set contains contour features captured at two-feet intervals. Therefore, ninety percent or more of all elevational features in the digital topographic map files are within 1.0 feet of their true vertical position.

Overview_Description:
Entity_and_Attribute_Overview:
This data set consists of a set of digital map files. The features included in the files are generally organized as geodetic and geographic reference elements, hydrographic elements, planimetric elements, hypsometric elements, and map sheet elements. Each one-inch-equals-200-feet-scale file covers one U. S. Public Land Survey section. The vector features contained in the files include points and lines. The digital map files are in MicroStation DGN format. The files are three-dimensional. All files consist of graphic map features only and do not contain attributes at this time. The data is presented in two file series. The graphic primitive series (.GRP file extension) includes no cartographic formatting. The symbolized series (.SYM file extension) includes cartographic formatting more appropriate for hard-copy map production. Both the .GRP and .SYM files are Microstation design files. Some software may require the extension be changed to .dgn for the files to be interpreted correctly. The individual tiles for each U. S. Public Land Survey System Township were combined and converted to ArcInfo Coverage formatted files.

This data also includes a set of digital terrain model files. The features include mass points and break lines. Each tile covers one U. S. Public Land Survey Section and were used to create the hypsometric features contained in the files described above. The digital map files are in MicroStation DGN format. The files are three-dimensional. All files consist of graphic map features only and do not contain attributes at this time.
