Richland County retained Ayres Associates to acquire digital aerial photography during the spring of 2010 suitable for the production of color orthophotography at a 12-inch ground pixel resolution (County: 589 Sq. Miles). The photography was obtained during leaf off conditions and when there was no snow on the ground. Control for the project was collected using Airborne Global Positioning System (ABGPS), and ground-based GPS technology. The horizontal and vertical coordinates is referenced to the County coordinate system (NAD83 in U.S. Survey Foot) and NAVD88.
The purpose of this project is to develop a 12-inch ground pixel resolution orthophotography dataset for Richland County, Wisconsin. The orthophotography will meet ASPRS standards for 1'=200' mapping scale.

A consistent mosaic was created from the adjacent image strips, which means that the images have good precision and, as a group, are spatially self-consistent.
The data is complete for the client-specified area of the Richland County, Wisconsin.
The digital orthophotography meets or exceeds National Map Accuracy Standards for 1"=200' scale mapping.
This standard requires that 90% of all test points are within 1/30th of an inch at mapping scale.
Ayres Associates obtained digital aerial photography during the spring of 2010 suitable for the production of color orthophotography at a County-wide 12-inch ground pixel resolution.
Ayres Associates collected control for the project using Airborne Global Positioning System (ABGPS), and ground-based GPS technology. The control established is sufficient to support analytical aerotriangulation and orthophotography production. The horizontal and vertical coordinates are referenced to the County coordinate system (NAD83 in Feet) and NAVD88.
Ayres Assciates prepared a softcopy aerotriangulation solution for the aerial photography. The aerotriangulation solution supports digital orthophotography meeting ASPRS standards for 1"=200' mapping.
Ayres Associates prepared PLSS quad-section tiled 12-inch resolution digital orthophotography for 1"= 200' scale mapping for the entire county plus a quarter-mile buffer around the county.
Ayres Associates produced FGDC compliant metadata.
