Iowa County retained Ayres Associates to obtain digital aerial photography during the spring of 2010 suitable for the production of color orthophotography at an 18-inch ground pixel resolution (County-wide: 767 Sq. Miles). The photography was obtained during leaf off conditions and when there was no snow on the ground. Control was collected for the project using Airborne Global Positioning System (ABGPS), and ground-based GPS technology. The control established will be sufficient to support softcopy aerotriangulation and orthophotography production. The horizontal and vertical coordinates are referenced to the County coordinate system (NAD83 in U.S. Survey Foot) and NAVD88.
The purpose of this project is to develop an 18-inch ground pixel resolution orthoimagery dataset for Iowa County, Wisconsin. The orthophotography will meet ASPRS standards for 1'=400' mapping scale.

A consistent mosaic was created from the adjacent image strips, which means that the images have good precision and, as a group, are spatially self-consistent.
The data is complete for the client-specified area of the Iowa County, Wisconsin.
The digital orthophotography meets or exceeds National Map Accuracy Standards for 1"=400' scale mapping.
This standard requires that 90% of all test points are within 1/30th of an inch at mapping scale.

Ayres Associates prepared a softcopy aerotriangulation solution for the aerial photography. The aerotriangulation solution will support digital orthophotography meeting ASPRSstandards for the appropriate mapping scale.
Ayres Associates prepared PLSS nine-section tiled 18-inch resolution digital orthophotography for 1"= 400' scale mapping for the entire county plus a quarter-mile buffer around the county. Orthophotography is provided in color bandwidths (RGB). Ayres Associates prepared a new County DEM that was used to rectify the digital orthophoto imagery. The delivery format is GEOTIFF with world files for all non-compressed images.
Ayres Associates prepared FGDC compliant metadata for each deliverable product.
